The spirit of nationalism binds the diverse people of nation
into a strong bond. Wars though harmful foster a spirit of unity among the
people. The moment there is threat to the nation from an enemy, the patriotic
feelings of the people are aroused. They forget their petty differences of
caste, creed and class. They stand behind their leaders to fight against the
enemy. Nationalism imparts extraordinary courage and boldness to ordinary men
and women. They accomplish daring acts beyond their normal power. They are even
ready to lay down their lives for the sake of the country.
